Skyler is seeking an exceptional Corporate Controller with the capability, ambition, and leadership potential to become our future Chief Financial Officer.
This is more than a traditional Controller position.
We are seeking a strategic financial leader capable of building scalable systems, developing teams, driving operational excellence, supporting acquisitions, improving profitability, and helping lead a rapidly growing national platform.
As part of the FGC2 family of 30 operating and affiliated companies, the successful candidate will gain exposure to construction, healthcare, industrial operations, emergency response, restoration and remediation, equipment rental, manufacturing, supply and distribution, real estate development, technology ventures, acquisitions, and future growth initiatives.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Corporate Controller serves as Skyler’s senior accounting and financial operations leader, overseeing all accounting functions, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, operational finance, treasury functions, and strategic financial initiatives.
This role partners directly with ownership and executive leadership to provide the financial insight, operational discipline, and business leadership necessary to support profitable growth and long-term organizational success.
This individual must possess strong technical accounting expertise while also demonstrating leadership, business acumen, adaptability, and the ability to support executive decision-making.
The ideal candidate understands that accounting extends beyond financial reporting. They will provide the insight, discipline, controls, and strategic leadership necessary to drive profitable growth, informed decision-making, and operational excellence.
KEY LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting & Finance Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Oversee all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets, and multi-entity accounting.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve scalable financial processes and internal controls.
- Standardize accounting processes across multiple operating companies while supporting future organizational growth.
- Develop departmental goals, performance metrics, and succession plans for the accounting organization.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Present financial results, key performance indicators (KPIs), and strategic analysis to ownership and executive leadership.
- Coordinate necessary audits, tax reporting, and relationships with external advisors.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor internal controls, financial risk, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop meaningful financial reporting that supports executive decision-making and operational performance.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital planning.
- Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Analyze financial performance, budget variances, and profitability trends across operating companies.
- Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, insurance, and treasury operations.
- Optimize working capital and cash management strategies.
- Develop financial models that support strategic planning and business growth.
Strategic Growth & Acquisitions
- Partner directly with ownership and executive leadership on strategic business initiatives.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration activities.
- Evaluate organizational performance using financial and operational data.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and organizational scalability.
- Lead process automation and financial technology initiatives.
- Participate in capital planning, investment analysis, and long-term business strategy.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on financial, operational, and strategic decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
- Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior finance leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing multi-entity accounting and financial operations.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

- Master of Business Administration degree.
- Construction industry leadership experience.
- Healthcare construction experience.
- Restoration and remediation experience.
- Equipment rental, manufacturing, and supply chain accounting experience.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Insurance claim validation experience.
- Business interruption claim experience.
- FEMA reimbursement experience.
- M&A integration experience.
- Private equity, investor-backed, or high-growth company experience.
- Premier Construction Software experience.
- Real estate development accounting experience.
- Insurance forensic accounting experience.
- QuickBooks Desktop & Online experience.
